TV’S Kelly Brook has blasted darts bosses for caving in to snowflakes and axing walk-on girls — saying they are denying women a lucrative job.
Model Kelly, 38, speaking as a petition to reverse the ban hit 30,000, rubbished claims that the traditional darts girls are sexist and “demeaning” to women — insisting: “It’s a well-paid job.”
Kelly said she used to do similar work as a Formula 1 flag girl and added: “It’s one of the best jobs I ever had.
“You dress glamorously and obviously it’s about being presentable but I never felt I was taken advantage of.”
Kelly spoke out on ITV’s Loose Women after a telly bust-up between a feminist and walk-on girls Charlotte Wood, 29, and Daniella Allfree, 30 — dumped when darts bosses decided to end the tradition over claims of sexism.
Walk-on girl Charlotte Wood told ITV’s This Morning: “It’s a very enjoyable job.”
Daniella blasted snowflake killjoys who put her out of work, saying: “It’s scary where it’s going.”
But writer Sally Howard said what they did was “demeaning broadly to women.” She added: “It’s a decorative role that’s making money for men.”
Host Philip Schofield leapt to the girls’ defence, saying: “These are intelligent women. Isn’t it their right to work in whatever job they choose?”
