CELTIC want Arsenal’s Argentinian keeper Emi Martinez - but Spanish club Getafe have to agree to the shock deal.
Brendan Rodgers wants an emergency number one to come in for injured Scotland cap Craig Gordon and he has approached the Gunners.
Martinez is keen on the move and the chance to play in the Europa League but he is currently on loan at Getafe and they have to agree.
Getafe are in talks with Crystal Palace about keeper Vicente Guaita and he may move to the Premier League before the window shuts.
Guaiata has already sorted out a pre contract to sign for Palace in the summer and the clubs are baffling over a fee to take him now.
Getafe cannot let Martinez go until they know if Guaita is leaving and that is stretching Celtic’s patience.
The 25-year-old joined the La Liga side on loan for the season, but he has endured a spell on the sidelines.
Despite being desperate for first team action, he has only made four appearances for Getafe.

Championship side Leeds United had also indicated their interest in the goalkeeper.
Martinez has also enjoyed loan spells to Wolverhampton Wanderers and Rotherham United.
