Darts shocker as Adrian Lewis is suspended after he shoves opponent Jose Justicia in the chest during bad-tempered match

Lewis had just defeated Justicia in a UK Open Qualifier when he approached his Spanish opponent in fury

ADRIAN LEWIS has been suspended following his dramatic stage ruck with darts rival Jose Justicia.

The two-time world champion appeared to shove Justicia in the chest after their UK Open qualifier clash in Wigan.

At the conclusion of Lewis's quarter-final victory, both players began pointing at each other and Lewis, 33, grabbed the Spaniard before being led away by officials and security personel.

Lewis went onto lose the semi-final to Michael van Gerwen.

A Darts Regulation Authority statement said: "Following a review of the incidents which occurred in his match with Jose Justicia at Friday's UK Open qualifier, the Darts Regulation Authority has suspended Adrian Lewis with immediate effect pending a full investigation in to the matter.

"The player has the right of appeal."

During the game, the two players appeared to stumble into each other at the oche.

Justicia had just finished throwing his arrows when Lewis appeared to catch him as he stood up to reply.

However, the Stoke man clearly felt Justicia made the most out of the accidental collision, and told the Spaniard not to "p*** him off".

Words continued to be exchanged between the pair, as Lewis refused to let the matter lie.

Justicia tried to laugh off the confrontation, but was clearly distracted.

After Lewis had hit double seven to wrap up the match, the row erupted once again.
