CM Punk hints at sensational UFC pay-per-view return in his home city of Chicago

Eighteen months after humiliating octagon debut defeat to Micky Gall the former WWE superstar is ready to go again

CM PUNK has hinted he could make his return to the octagon at UFC 225 in his home city of Chicago.

The former WWE superstar hasn't fought professionally in 18 months.

His last public bout was a shock and humbling first-round defeat to Mickey Gall at UFC 203 in September 2016.

But the reports that it looks as though Punk is back on track.

UFC president Dana White has confirmed the six-time WWE world champion will be welcome to take another shot at making big in the combat world.

And with major MMA pay-per-view show set for Chicago on June 9, 39-year-old Punk hinted on Twitter that it could be time for him to try and reverse his disappointing 0-1 record.

Punk's real name is Philip Brooks, quit wrestling in January 2014 after apparently falling out with owner Vince McMahon and top executive Triple H over his role in their shows.

The outspoken superstar last appeared in WWE at the 2014 men's Royal Rumble.

Meanwhile, UFC is yet to confirm any fights for UFC 225.
