Borussia Dortmund ban half-and-half scarves as they prepare to face Red Bull Salzburg
Controversial knitwear is unpopular with many and the German outfit - known as a fan-friendly club - have taken the extreme step
BORUSSIA DORTMUND have done what many football fans would love to and banned half-and-half scarves.
The Germans are prepared to continue their war against modern football when they face Red Bull Salzburg in the Europa League.
Dortmund have a bitter rivalry with RB Leipzig - which has seen fan protests at Bundesliga matches.
And they have now decided to prohibit the controversial knitwear so the Red Bull logo does not appear on any of their merchandise.
Marketing director Carsten Cramer confirmed: "We don't want any scarves where a promotional logo can be seen with ours."
Unofficial knock-ups may be seen at the March 8 clash, which comes after a trip to Leipzig on Saturday.
