Deontay Wilder says Wladimir Klitschko beat HIMSELF in Anthony Joshua war as pre-fight hype builds

American – who KO'd Luis Ortiz in the tenth round of their thrilling fight on Saturday – has had a dig at AJ’s Wembley coronation

DEONTAY WILDER has rubbished Anthony Joshua’s incredible win over Wladimir Klitschko and claimed the Ukrainian legend beat HIMSELF.

The Bronze Bomber and WBC champ insists he wants a unification war with the Watford WBA and IBF boss but he has been pricing himself out of a deal.

Eddie Hearn – AJ’s Matchroom promoter – has mocked Wilder’s low-profile compare to 28-year-old Joshua’s Hollywood status.

And the American – who KO'd Luis Ortiz in the tenth round of their thrilling New York fight on Saturday – has hit back with a dig at AJ’s Wembley boxing coronation.

Wilder, 32, said: “As far as I am concerned the next fight should be me and him in the ring but there are so many things holding it up.

“I don’t think his promoter wants this fight, you can tell with his mannerisms, his language and the things he tries to do to brainwash the British public.

“They want to hype about beating Klitschko but Klitschko was an old man. Klitschko had come off of an almost two-year lay-off. Klitschko was already dethroned and beaten, he was not a champion any more.

“He beat a not confident Klitschko – really, Klitschko beat himself. He had three opportunities to win that fight. But they praise that but he was already beaten.”

WBO king Joseph Parker is the next scalp on Josh’s hitlist – with a March 31 battle in Cardiff arranged – and a US debut has been discussed.

Jarrell "Big Baby" Miller has been mooted by Hearn as a potential opponent for the Olympic golden boy, while Wilder sticks to his 50-50 purse demand.

And Wilder has taken that as a sign of fear from Team AJ over putting their man in the ring with 40-0 Alabama slammer.

He said: “Eddie doesn’t want that fight. He is so scared of Deontay Wilder because – he can put anyone in the ring and make money – but Deontay Wilder is the only one who can block that.
