Scott Quigg apologises for failing to make weight and losing out on boxing world title dreams
WBO featherweight title is now off the table for Quigg when he fights Oscar Valdez in the early hours of Sunday morning in Las Vegas

SCOTT QUIGG has apologised for failing to make the weight for his fight against Oscar Valdez.
The Bury boxer was previously quoted as saying he would make Valdez "regret" giving him a crack at his WBO featherweight title.
But his dreams have been shattered after he came in 3lbs over the nine stone weight limit, describing how his body as "frozen".
Quigg said he will now just rehydrate and do his best to win the bout at the StubHub Center in California on Saturday even though he will not be fighting for the title.
And the 29-year-old is expecting to be booed by the Mexican fans for the controversy.
Speaking to , he said: “It’s going to be packed full of Mexicans and they’ll probably boo me in, but I’m planning on being cheered out.
"Everything was on track, my body seems to have frozen.
"I've still got to figure it out. I'm so focused, so disciplined. Yesterday I was only three pounds over.

“It just wouldn't budge. I've done everything. I apologise to Oscar and his team. I have tried and tried, there's nothing more that I can say.
"I've still got the fight ahead of me. I still have to stay focused. I’m a professional through and through and it's not acceptable. I've put the work in and am still going to get the victory."

His opponent Valdez insists Quigg not making weight will not make a difference on the result, saying how he will be leaving victorious.
The 27-year-old Mexican: “It won’t be a difference, I did my job in the gym, the result is going to be the same, I’m going to come out victorious that night,” Valdez said.

Valdez doesn’t think that Quigg coming in 3lbs over the limit was part of a strategy.
“Not at all,” he said. “If there’s a strategy for him it won’t matter for me as I’ll be ready for him.
Valdez’s coach, Manny Robles says that Quigg and his team are “very unprofessional” to come in 3lbs over the weight limit.
“If he’s over weigh he’s over weight, that’s on him and his team,” Robles said. “Unfortunately for them this is very unprofessional on their part.
