England cricket legend Andrew Flintoff sells seven-bedroom luxury mansion he has never lived in for £3m profit… to Manchester City ace Benjamin Mendy
CRICKET legend Andrew Flintoff has made a £3million profit on a home he has never even lived in.
The former England all-rounder, 40, bought the seven-bedroom property for £1.8m in 2008 on one of the country’s richest roads.
He then flattened it and set about building his own dream home which took two years before renting it out.
But the League of Their Own host has now sold it for £4.8m to Manchester City’s left back Benjamin Mendy.
Flintoff initially bought the mansion from former Man City boss Mark Hughes - who already had planning permission to completely rebuild the property.
His original plans had been to construct a giant, four-storey mansion - but were swiftly rejected by the council over fears from neighbours that it would be too big.
Flintoff instead settled for a more modest, two-storey 9,000 square-foot mansion.
The seven-bedroom mansion boasts a gym and two swimming pools in the basement and such incredible features as being able to run a bath via a remote control.
FLAT EARTH FREDDIE England Ashes hero Andrew ‘Freddie’ Flintoff is convinced by the controversial Flat Earth theory
But "Freddie" has reportedly never spent a night in the house as he decided to move to Dubai in 2010, before moving to Surrey in 2011 with wife Rachael.
The property was sold to footballer Mendy in November after a previous sale fell through.

However, Mendy won't be the first football star to move in as Flintoff rented the house to Peter Crouch and wife Abbey Clancy in 2011 after he was unable to sell the house for the £5m price tag.
Situated on "the most expensive road in the north" - Withinlee Road, Macclesfield - Mendy will also have Wayne and Coleen Rooney, as well as Robbie Savage as his neighbours.
Former England captain Flintoff played for his country in all formats between 1998 and 2009 - as well as spending his entire country career at Lancashire.
Meanwhile, Mendy - a £51.6m summer signing from Monaco - has been out of action since September, after playing just five times for the club, with an ACL injury.
