Widnes Vikings' win over Salford Red Devils was interrupted when unwitting man on the microphone read out rude message
A PRANKSTER tricked a Rugby Super League announcer into reading a VERY rude message live on Sky Sports.
The man on the microphone unwittingly said during Widnes Vikings' win over Salford Red Devils: "Can the owner of a vehicle parked on Sinclair Avenue, registration NE14 ABJ, please vacate. You are blocking somebody's drive."
The registration number makes reference to a sex act.
The Select Security Stadium sits over 13,000 fans, while viewers watching at home got an earful as well.
Twitter user Dave The Pigeon claims to be the mastermind behind the joke.
He tweeted: "Cant believe they fell for that one i nearly started laughing when i told the woman on the phone the ref NE14 ABJ (sic)"
Asda staff were fooled into reading out the same X-rated message on the blower earlier this month.
After Dave The Pigeon's 65th-minute gaffe, Widnes fought back from 12-16 down to win the game 24-16.
Late tries from Greg Burge and Aaron Heremaia helped move the hosts into the top half of the league.
Salford head coach Ian Watson said: "The last 10-12 minutes have probably cost us really.
"They controlled the ball really well for that last period and they kicked well on the end of it as well.
"When we were 16-12 up we needed to complete our sets and get to our kicks - we just didn't manage to do that."
