Australia cricket union chief wants bans reduced for Steve Smith and David Warner because they CRIED
Smith and Warner got one-year bans and Cameron Bancroft nine months after the ball-tampering scandal in South Africa
AUSTRALIA’S cricket union wants the three Sandpapergate cheats’ bans reduced — because they all CRIED.
The news came as the Aussies fell to their heaviest Test runs loss since 1934.
Steve Smith and David Warner got one-year bans and Cameron Bancroft nine months after the ball-tampering scandal in South Africa.
But as the Aussies lost by 492 runs for a 3-1 series defeat, the Australian Cricketers’ Association demanded the suspensions be cut after the trio sobbed during public apologies.
ACA chief Greg Dyer said: “Their distressed faces sent a message across the world as effective as any sanctions could.
“Australia cried with Steve Smith — I certainly did.
