McGregor has been released on bail after being charged with three counts of assault and one of criminal mischief.

This relates to an incident where he, along with a number of friends, stormed a UFC media day in New York and attacked a bus containing fellow fighters.

It is believed that the incident at the Barclays Center was a direct consequence of Khabib Nurmagomedov’s run in with Conor’s friend Artem Lobov earlier last week.

Attar said: “So much rumour and misinformation about my client, Conor McGregor. The matter is in the hands of law enforcement and I cannot really say more.

During the UFC 223 press day, McGregor, his good friend Lobov and members of their team rampaged the backstage area of Barclays Center and proceeded to attack one of the UFC buses containing fighters.

Other passengers, including a team of UFC contenders appear to be shaken up by the attack, with McGregor and his friends fleeing from the scene.

The MMA fighter could face seven years in jail - the maximum sentence for his charge of felony criminal mischief - following his violent rampage in Brooklyn.
