Bolton 0 Millwall 2: The Lions move into play-off places after Tom Elliott and Ben Marshall find the net
The visitors leapfrogged Middlesbrough after securing three points at the Macron Stadium
MILLWALL moved into the Championship play-off places after beating Bolton Wanderers 2-0.
Tom Elliott and Ben Marshall found the net at the Macron Stadium to rocket the Lions ahead of Middlesbrough.
Elliott broke the deadlock after 34 minutes with a header after a dangerous delivery into the box from Marshall.
Neil Harris' men enter the interval with a one goal advantage after a confident start to the fixture.
Jed Wallace came close to doubling just minutes into the second half, but his effort curled just inches above the woodwork.
Mahlon Romeo created Millwall's second goal by running almost the length of the field before pulling the back to Marshall.
The 27-year-old, who is on loan from Wolves, made no mistakes with the finish to extend the Lions' lead.
After the match, Lions boss Harris said: "I thought Bolton made it difficult for us in the first half.
"But when we used the ball with a bit of quality we looked dangerous.
"In the second half we bossed the game for long periods and scored a good goal."
"The run from Mahlon Romeo for the second goal was a great run and the desire for Ben Marshall to get there was brilliant."
