JOCKEY David Mullins was reduced to tears after his brave dash to the Grand National finish line ended in a photo-finish failure.

Twenty-one-year Mullins and Pleasant Company gave their all in a thrilling finale that saw Tiger Roll and jockey Davy Russell win by a nose.

The Gordon Elliott-trained horse looked to be home and dry but was almost overhauled on the line after a heroic fightback from 25-1 shot Pleasant Company.

And it was all too much for Mullins, whose big race ended in tears.

Mullins, who won the Grand National in 2016 on Rule the World, later collected himself to say:

"It's not nice to be get beaten that far but another stride and we were up.

"I told myself Russell is 38 - he's had his bit of luck today.

"I got run away today but the horse was as brave as a lion.
