Next Arsenal manager: Odds slashed on new favourite Luis Enrique as Arsene Wenger backs former Barcelona boss

Frenchman says he has no influence on his successor at the Emirates but talks highly of the Spaniard

LUIS ENRIQUE is the new favourite to land Arsenal job when Arsene Wenger steps down at the end of the season.

The former Barcelona boss is leading the chase with Sun Bets ahead of Mikel Arteta and Joachim Loew.

The Spaniard's odds have been slashed to as look to find a replacement to takeover from Wenger's 22-year reign.

Early suitors Carlo Ancelotti, Brendan Rodgers and Patrick Vieira have fallen way off in the market since Wenger made the announcement last week.

When asked about the prospect of Enrique taking over from him, Wenger said: "I have a high opinion of him.

"But I do not want to influence the job for the next manager.

    "He knows this squad better than anyone else and I am sure the club will listen to who he thinks should takeover of his squad.
