Véronique Zidane (née Fernandez) was born in Rodez, France, to Spanish parents.
She initially went to university to study biology but dropped out to become a professional dancer.
She met Zinedine while she was studying dance in Cannes at the Rosella Hightower school.
In 2013, the couple later honoured Véronique's roots by investing in the club of her hometown Rodez Aveyron FC.
When did Véronique get married to Zinedine Zidane?
Véronique Zidane met Zinedine in 1989 when they were both just 16.
In an Véronique confessed that they had crossed paths a number of times before they actually spoke to each other.
They lived in accommodation that was strictly gender separate but after a couple of months Zinedine let out a "hello" when they passed each other and from then on they started chatting.
The couple married five years later in 1994 with a ceremony at Bordeaux town hall.
