Brazil legend Ronaldo leaves Cristiano Ronaldo out of his all-time World XI squad… in favour of himself
Retired star carefully selected 11 players from down the years that would make his ultimate team
CRISTIANO RONALDO was nowhere to be seen when Brazil legend Ronaldo picked his all-time world XI.
The retired star, who won 19 major honours during his career, named himself in the squad and left out the five-time Ballon d'Or winner.
The pair are regarded as two the greatest to ever grace the pitch, both have set records for Real Madrid and they even share a surname.
But the retired Brazilian believes that his 18-year career has left him ranking ahead of the Portuguese superstar.
Jose Mourinho would support his decision after he claimed that the Brazilian is the best player to bare the name.
Ronaldo Nazario opted to put himself alongside Pele in his all-time XI.
Ronaldo picked Italian legend Gianluigi Buffon to start for his team between the sticks.
In defence, he picked Cafu, Paolo Maldini, Fabio Cannavaro and Roberto Carlos.
'RIGHT MOMENT' Neymar and Salah tipped to top Ron and Messi as world's best, says team-mate
Andrea Pirlo, Lionel Messi and Diego Maradona and Zinedine Zidane would patrol the midfield.
And of course, Brazil's top-two goalscorers in history would lead the line for Ronaldo's squad.
In total, the selected team of players have won 13 World Cups and 16 Champions League titles.
Ahead of the World Cup, retired defender Cafu picked his all-time Brazil XI... with some shock exclusions.
