WOLVES are reportedly closing in on a deal for Inter Milan midfielder and former West Ham United loanee Joao Mario.
The 25-year-old insisted a few months ago that he was done with the Serie A club and would be looking at other options.
BeIN SPORTS French journalist John Ferreira yesterday tweeted that Inter Milan’s Joao Mario is closing in on a move to Wolves and the deal could be done as early as today.
Mario recently featured for Portugal in the World Cup, he played in every game before they were knocked out in the last 16 by Uruguay.
The Portugal playmaker has made 40 appearances for his country and last season made 14 Serie A appearances prior to his move to West Ham.
Mario spent the second half of last season on loan with the Hammers where he made 14 appearances and scoring two and assisting one in that time.

The London club were favourites to sign him but Wolves are now claimed to be ahead of the race.
Mario started his career in Portugal at Sporting where he played 44 games for their B side, in which he scored two and assisted 11.
He then made his break into the first team and went onto play 93 games for them, scoring 14 and assisting 18 in that time.
Inter Milan came along in 2016 and signed the midfielder for a fee in the region of £36 million.
Wolves dominated the Championship throughout the 17/18 season and have made two superb signings - Ruben Neves and Diego Jota, could Joao Mario be the third?
