George Groves set to fight Callum Smith in Saudi Arabia this September in World Boxing Super Series final
WBA world champion will defend his title against the 28-year-old at the King Abdullah Sports City stadium
GEORGE GROVES and Callum Smith will go head-to-head in Saudi Arabia for the World Boxing Super Series final.
The all-English world title fight is expected to take place at the new King Abdullah Sports City stadium in September.
Groves will be defending his WBA belt for the third time when he takes on the 28-year-old.
According to the , the showdown will be held in the indoor arena at the complex, which also has a football stadium and seven mosques.
In April, the plush venue was used to host the WWE wrestling Royal Rumble event.
With both the fighters coming from the UK, it was expected that the showdown would take place in England.
But the fight was delayed as the 30-year-old continued his recovery from a shoulder injury.
It was originally set to take place in June, before it was moved back to July and now September.
Groves dislocated his shoulder during the victory over Chris Eubank Jr in February.
The British star is now in the final stages of his recovery and rehabilitation after he had surgery on his injury.
Smith beat Nieky Holzken in the previous round after Juergen Braehmer pulled out.
The 28-year-old previously held the European, British and WBC Silver super-middleweight crown.
