Tyson Fury says old rival Dereck Chisora deserves world title shot after Carlos Takam KO
Gypsy King has beaten the Finchley fighter twice but he believes he is due a crack at some heavyweight gold
TYSON FURY wants old rival and two-time victim Dereck Chisora to finally land a world title.
Delboy turned back the clock on Saturday night against Frenchman Carlos Takam, winning by knockout in the eighth round.
And ex-champ Fury says the Finchley battler he beat in 2011 and 2014 deserves a shot at IBF, WBA and WBO champ Anthony Joshua, WBC boss Deontay Wilder or WBA regular champ Manuel Charr.
Fury – who believes Chisora was robbed in his 2016 split decision loss to Dillian Whyte - said: “We know Chisora can win meaningful fights.
“We know he’s won British, Commonwealth, European and beat some unbeaten prospects.
“He’s had really meaningful fights beating people who were there to win and he’s been in fights where he couldn’t win, like against Vitali Klitschko, against me and he was in the fight with David Haye - it was a 50-50.

“You can never write someone like Chisora off, if you stand there and trade with him, he’ll beat you up like he did to Dillian Whyte, like he did to Carlos Takam.
“Really Chisora should be the number-one ranked challenger in the world because he beat Dillian Whyte and he beat Carlos Takam.
“I hope he gets a world title fight, either Joshua, Wilder or Manuel Charr, I’d like to see Dereck Chisora with a world title.

“I would be the first to back him in a world title fight.
“I’ll back the campaign, let’s get a campaign going where we get Dereck Chisora a world heavyweight championship around his waist.
“The guy deserves it, he’s a warrior, he’ll fight anybody, he’s been on the road, he’s fought the best in the world, he’s still going - even when people write him off.”
