JORDAN PICKFORD has reported in for England duty - and he is clearly still on a national high after his World Cup exploits.

The Everton goalkeeper was one of the Three Lions' stars in Russia this summer, so he decided to celebrate by getting some customised boots for the next international competition.

But it wasn't a tribute to a loved one, or to his boyhood or current club the 24-year-old went for.

Instead he had the words "Get the rave on" printed on the outside edge of his boots.

Clearly Pickford is still in the "party" mode that gripped the nation as Gareth Southgate's young guns finally did the country proud in a major tournament.

But for Kyle Walker, he'll be lucky if he can even start training.

The Manchester City defender turned up to St George's Park without his boots.

He tried to assure staff he wasn't joking, and eventually they believed him.

England return to action for the first time since the World Cup when they take on Spain at Wembley this weekend. 

Gareth Southgate's side are likely to receive a big welcome after reaching the semi-final of Russia 2018 as they face the Spanish in their debut Uefa Nations League match.

While Southgate has kept a familiar core to the squad which performed so well in the summer, Spain are embarking on a period of transition with new boss Luis Enrique in place.

England have been hit by the withdrawal of both Raheem Sterling and Adam Lallana from the original squad named by Southgate.

Southgate was the preferred option linking up with Harry Kane in attack, so Marcus Rashford may get the chance to come in from the start.

Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso is pushing for a start, but ex-Stamford Bridge team-mate Diego Costa has been forced out through injury.
