FROM being described as his team's "emergency man" one day to picking up a parking ticket the next - it's safe to say it hasn't been the best 48 hours for Manchester United's Matteo Darmian.
The 28-year-old was told he could leave Old Trafford earlier this summer with Napoli waiting in the wings.
The versatile defender has made just one appearance so far this season - the 2-1 win over Leicester City on the opening weekend.
So needless to say Darmian wouldn't have been thrilled to hear Jose Mourinho's comments over the weekend - confirming that he is unlikely to get much game time, if any, this season.
He said: “Young and Shaw are both different players and I think they both understand that one is a young player and the other is the experienced one.
"It's good for us to have these two options, plus Darmian.
“He is my emergency man, he is always ready for everything.”
And then today, having had lunch with a friend at renowned Italian restaurant Cibo in Wilmslow, he returned back to his car to find he had received a visit from a traffic warden.
Understandably frustrated, Darmian took off the notice before leaving in his bright, red £160,000 Bentley Bentayga.
The good news for Darmian is that the £60 fine, for parking on a single yellow time inside the restricted time listed, will be halved if the amount is paid within 14 days.
Unfortunately for him though, barring a injury crisis at Old Trafford it's very doubtful we'll be seeing much of Darmian on the field anytime soon.
