Punters have been told that a 'limit' has been introduced due to 'popular demand'

UFC star Conor McGregor's whiskey is so popular  in Tesco Ireland stores that customers are only allowed to buy two bottles at a time.

The Proper No. Twelve drink, which was named after McGregor's hometown Crumlin situated in Dublin 12, is already flying off the shelves.

: "To ensure availability for all customers we’ve introduced a limit on the number of bottles that can be sold in a single sale."

The UFC star revealed his very own brand on Monday after withdrawing his application to register his ‘Notorious’ moniker as the trademark.

The supermarket chain took to social media to share the news with their followers yesterday.

They wrote on Facebook: “Proper No. Twelve Whiskey available now exclusively at a Tesco near you.

“Get your Proper Whiskey before it’s gone.”

McGregor previously revealed his reason for the name behind his brand.

He said: “I come from a place called Crumlin, in Dublin 12. It’s a place dear to my heart. It’s where I learned how to fight, it made me who I am today.

“It’s a place I’m still very much a part of every single day of my life. So, that’s where the name came from. It’s proper Irish whiskey and twelve is my hometown."

Eire Born Spirits, founded by the Dubliner, launched the whiskey in Ireland and the US earlier this week, with further expansion expected in 2019 and onward.
