Alexander Povetkin suffers horror cut after clash of heads with Anthony Joshua during Wembley showdown

ALEXANDER POVETKIN suffered a nasty cut to his right eye in round four of his huge fight with Anthony Joshua at Wembley Stadium.
The Russian knockout specialist had earlier been causing huge problems for the IBF, WBA and WBO champion early on.
Joshua appeared to suffer a suspected broken nose at the end of the first round, following a powerful combination from his 39-year-old opponent.
However, Joshua recovered strongly and got right back into his stride in the fourth round.
A clash of heads resulted in Povetkin suffering a serious cut to his eye - and he never recovered from that.
Joshua went from strength to strength with Povetkin unable to deal with the 28-year-old's power.
The bout ended with an impressive seven-round knockout from AJ, who wants to face Deontay Wilder next on April 13 at Wembley.
If that fails to materialise, Joshua will almost certainly face bitter rival Dillian Whyte - who he beat back in December 2015 courtesy of a seven-round knockout.
