WWE legend Dave Bautista to return with new long-term deal until WrestleMania

Hollywood superstar will reunite with his Evolution members Triple H, Randy Orton and Ric Flair at this month's 1000th episode of SmackDown Live

HOLLYWOOD star Batista’s return to WWE could be for a lot longer than first thought.

It was confirmed last week the 49-year-old, real name Dave Bautista, is heading back for the 1000th episode of SmackDown Live.

He will reunite with his old Evolution running buddies Triple H and Randy Orton for the landmark show.

However, it has now been reported his reunion with the famous faction may not be the only reason he is coming – The Animal could be sticking around until WrestleMania.

’s No Holds Barred podcast claim: “Batista may be signing a short-term deal with WWE at SmackDown to possibly appear at Survivor Series, Royal Rumble, and WrestleMania.”

Batista has flourished in Hollywood since leaving WWE in 2014 with roles in both Guardians of the Galaxy movies as Drax the Destroyer, plus his latest film Final Score, which was set at West Ham's old Upton Park ground.

Before his comeback was confirmed, the former world champion had revealed his desire for another run with the company.

He said: “They know that I'm always open to going back, it just has to be on the right conditions. I have to be available.

“As long as that makes sense, I'd love to go back because I miss it. I miss the audience, the immediate feedback, the adrenaline rush of the physical performance. It's just something that's still in me, wrestling.”

SmackDown 1000 takes place in Batista's hometown of Washington D.C. on October 16.
