BARCELONA are closely monitoring the progress of £58m rated Napoli star Kalidou Koulibaly, according to reports.
claim that the Spanish giants have sent scouts to watch the defender in action this season.
Their was one in the stands watching on during the Serie A side's 1-0 win over Liverpool in the Champions League.
Fabio Capello claimed that Kouliably was one of the two centre-backs that under-fire Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho wanted to sign in the recent transfer window.
The ex-England boss met Mourinho at a manager’s summit in the summer.
He told Sky Sport Italia: “I met Mourinho during a meeting between the managers.
“He wanted to sign two defenders, one was Milan Skriniar, the other one was Koulibaly.”
Koulibaly, 27, has played every minute of Napoli’s matches this season.
The defender was also linked with a move away to United's Premier League rivals Chelsea and Liverpool over the summer.
However, the Senegal international decided to stay in Naples and subsequently signed a new deal until 2023.
