Marcus Rashford is just 2/1 to beat all-time England record
At 20 years of age and 27 caps already under his belt, Rashford has the potential to eclipse England's most capped player Peter Shilton
MARCUS RASHFORD is just 2/1 to break Peter Shilton's all-time England record.
The legendary goalkeeper has the most Three Lions appearances with 125 to his name but Manchester United's youngster is on course to exceed this milestone.
Rashford already has 27 international caps at the age of 20.
The forward is an important part of Gareth Southgate's squad and his role is likely to grow as he develops as a player.
Former outfield England players trail Shilton in the record books - with the 'golden era' making up the top four most capped England players.
Wayne Rooney is second with 119, followed by David Beckhham (115) and Steven Gerrard (114) - while World Cup winner Bobby Moore is fifth with 108.
Spokesperson Katie Baylis said: “At the age of just 20, Rashford already has 27 caps and if he continues at the same rate, is on track to become one of England’s most capped players of all time.
"Currently Peter Shilton, with 125 caps is the most capped England player and we make it 2/1 that Rashford will end up with 126 caps or more.
"Although of course that depends on a variety of factors, not least fitness, form and who else he needs to beat to be selected... so watch this space.”
