Man Utd news: Tottenham lead chase for Marcus Rashford after Jose Mourinho outburst, say bookies

England international was bemused after the Special One said he struggled to cope under pressure

TOTTENHAM lead the chase for Manchester United starlet Marcus Rashford, according to the bookies.

The 20-year-old is bemused to hear Jose Mourinho said he could not handle the pressure of playing at Manchester United.

The Special One said: "Rashford was sad on the pitch, (Scott) McTominay was scared on the pitch.”

This has disgruntled the young forward and he could be looking for a fresh start in January - with Tottenham being the favourites at 7/2.

Rashford would join a number of fellow England stars at Tottenham if he were to make the high-profile switch.

Spurs lead Chelsea, Wolves and Arsenal in the bookies' market as plenty of clubs would be interested in the pacey striker.

Spokesperson Katie Baylis said: “Rashford is one of the latest United players to be publicly criticised by Mourinho, with his comments that the 20-year-old was ‘sad on the pitch’ coming after the win over Newcastle.

"While the England international has already made 130th appearances for United, if the criticism continues there may be a chance he could start looking elsewhere as well.

"If so, we have Spurs as the 7/2 favourites as his next club, ahead of Chelsea at 5/1 and Wolves at 8/1.”
