Chris Eubank Jr set to face Brit rival James DeGale on December 8 in London on ITV Box Office

Olympic gold medallist DeGale vacated his IBF super-middleweight title in July in search of huge domestic bouts

JAMES DEGALE has reportedly struck a deal to fight British super-middleweight rival Chris Eubank Jr on December 8.

The 32-year-old vacated his IBF belt in July in search of blockbuster domestic bouts, with Next Gen believed to be at the top of the list of potential opponents.

According to , the bout will take place at the end of the year, with the event likely to be held in London.

While they also claim that the dust-up between the pair will be shown live on ITV Box Office.

SunSport reported in July how the two former British champions were in talks to face each other, as DeGale enters the final chapter of his professional career.

The 2008 Olympic gold medallist suffered a shock defeat at the hands of American foe Caleb Truax last year, before reclaiming his world title in a rematch four months later.

While Eubank Jr unsuccessfully challenged George Groves for the WBA world title in the World Boxing Super Series semi-final in February.

However he got back to winning ways on the undercard of the Saint's battle with Callum Smith, where Irish opponent JJ McDonagh retired on his stool at the end of the third round.

And on that same weekend last month, Chunky racked up his second consecutive win after blasting away former world title challenger Fidel Monterrosa Munoz inside three rounds.

Both men will be keeping one eye on Rocky Fielding's upcoming bout with Saul Alvarez, with the Mexican looking to rip away the Liverpudlian's WBA Regular strap.
