Wales boss Ryan Giggs goes on Ireland scouting mission at crocked star Gareth Bale’s Cardiff bar
Manchester United veteran took his squad to Elevens Bar and Grill on Saturday night to watch the match
RYAN GIGGS went on a scouting mission to watch Wales’ Nations League rivals Ireland in crocked star Gareth Bale’s bar!
The Dragons boss took his squad including the Real Madrid forward to Elevens Bar and Grill in Cardiff on Saturday night.
Ireland played out a goalless draw with Denmark to hand Wales a boost ahead of Tuesday's clash in Dublin.
But Giggs’ worse fears were confirmed when Bale was officially ruled out of the Aviva Stadium showdown due to a groin injury.
A Wales statement read: “Gareth Bale has returned to his club this afternoon and will not travel to Dublin with the rest of the squad.”
Giggs had admitted following last Thursday’s 4-1 friendly defeat to Spain it was ‘unlikely’ Bale will be fit for Ireland.
Wales set a Sunday deadline for their talisman to prove his fitness but time ran out for the forward to shake off muscle fatigue.
Crisis club Real were keen for Bale, who has returned to Madrid, not to play having not won or scored in their last four games and El Clasico is looming large against Barcelona on October 28.
Giggs is already without Chelsea’s Ethan Ampadu and Chris Mepham of Brentford for the trip across the Irish Sea.
The Dragons lost their last Nations League match 2-0 to Denmark following an impressive double from Christian Eriksen.
Elevens shared an image of the team enjoying a bite to eat as they watched the football to their Twitter page.
The caption read: "Nothing like a Saturday night with the boys. Food, drink and football, what more could you ask for?! @FAWales #Elevens #TogetherStronger #TheRedWall #UEFANationsLeague."
