Chelsea news: Ciro Immobile leads list of strikers to join the Blues and replace Alvaro Morata
Maurizio Sarri will have to look elsewhere to bolster his attacking options after No. 1 target Mauro Icardi ruled out a move
CIRO IMMOBILE is leading the list of potential strikers to join Chelsea in January.
The Blues are reportedly in the market for another forward to replace Alvaro Morata who is struggling for form.
Maurizio Sarri and his recruitment team will have to look elsewhere after their No. 1 target Mauro Icardi ruled out a move to Stamford Bridge.
This now leaves Lazio and Italy striker Immobile as the favourite at 4/1 to sign and bolster the Blues' attacking options.
He leads RB Leipzig's Timo Werner (9/1) and Bayern Munich's Robert Lewandowski (16/1) in Betfair's market.
Spokesperson Katie Baylis said: “With Chelsea target Icardi insisting he won’t be leaving Inter Milan, attention is now turning to which other strikers the club will look to target.
"At this stage we have Lazio’s Immobile as the 4/1 favourite, followed by Werner with the German at 9/1 and Bayern Munich striker Lewandowski at 16/1.”
Chelsea paid a record £60million to bring Morata in last summer and he showed star quality, netting six in his opening six games for the Blues.
But his form at the Bridge has faded and he now finds himself playing second fiddle to Olivier Giroud.
