'NOTHING OUT OF THE ORDINARY'

Anthony Joshua eyed for heavyweight showdown by Oleksandr Usyk if he gets past Tony Bellew

The unbeaten Ukrainian says fellow London 2012 Olympic gold medallist Joshua is 'nothing out of the ordinary'

UNDISPUTED cruiserweight king Oleksandr Usyk is eyeing a showdown with Anthony Joshua if he beats Tony Bellew – claiming there is “nothing out of the ordinary” with AJ.

Like Joshua, the unbeaten WBC, IBF, WBA and WBO champion was a fellow gold medallist at the London 2012 Olympic Games.

The Ukrainian star has followed the Watford man’s career all the way from the amateur ranks and still now as a professional.

He was in attendance for Joshua’s world title victory over Alexander Povetkin at Wembley last month, experiencing the big fight atmosphere ahead of his huge clash with Bellew at Manchester Arena on November 10.

And while Usyk’s eyes are firmly on getting past Bellew, he isn’t worried by the prospect of facing the unbeaten Joshua afterwards.

Speaking to Sky Sports he said: "I saw him for the first time at the 2011 World Championship finals against Magomedrasul Majidov.

“It was a great fight and after this fight I said he is going to be the Olympic champion in London."

";Yes, I watched the fight (against Povetkin). I really liked it.

"I liked how Alexander was set up, it was intriguing.

"Or if it was Anthony Joshua's plan - it wasn't a successful plan at the beginning.

"I saw absolutely nothing out of the ordinary with him though. The fighter is quite well trained, I do not see anything not ordinary.

"I really liked the atmosphere at Wembley and I would like to box there too.”
