Chelsea ace David Luiz is more likely to join Barcelona than Arsenal’s Laurent Koscielny, say bookies
Catalan giants are out to fix their injury crisis in January as Ernesto Valverde has just two central defenders fit
CHELSEA'S David Luiz is a shorter price to join Barcelona than Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny.
According to reports, the two Premier League defenders have been targeted by Barca due to their current injury crisis.
The Catalan giants have just two central defenders fit following injuries to Thomas Vermaelen and Samuel Umtiti - leaving Ernesto Valverde on the look out for defensive reinforcements.
Luiz is a shorter price to sign for Barcelona at 6/1 than Koscielny who is 8/1, as both stars have been shortlisted as potential arrivals.
Betfair Spokesperson Katie Baylis said: “With Barca in the middle of an injury crisis there is now speculation on who they make start looking at to fill the gap.
"We currently have David Luiz at 6/1 and Laurent Koscielny at 8/1, but that list could grow as January draws closer.”
The Premier League duo are among a long list of targets at the Nou Camp - with former Blues defender Branislav Ivanovic also being a shock target.
Koscielny would be a brave signing, considering the Frenchman has not played since May 3, due to an Achilles injury.
Meanwhile it would take a lot for Barcelona to lure Luiz from Stamford Bridge, considering he has been a key player for Maurizio Sarri this term.
