Bookies suspend betting on Arsene Wenger to be next AC Milan manager
Frenchman was odds-on to take control at the San Siro before bookmakers received a flurry of bets
BOOKMAKERS have suspended the betting on Arsene Wenger to become the next AC Milan manager.
The former Arsenal boss was odds-on to replace Gennaro Guttuso at the San Siro, before Coral pulled the plug on the market after seeing an ‘intense gamble’.
The Frenchman was as short as 1/6 on to become Milan's next boss before receiving an influx of placed bets.
John Hill said: "The intensity of this gamble suggests to us that Arsene Wenger is on his way to Milan and could be confirmed as their new manager later this week therefore we have pulled the plug on the market."
Rumours linking Wenger with AC Milan began after Ivan Gazidis quit Arsenal for the Italian giants.
Gazidas grew a strong relationship with Wenger as he was his chief executive during the latter's time in North London.
