It hasn't been plain sailing for Spurs so far this season, with the club forced to play at Wembley following stadium delays at the 62,000-seater arena.
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino says the wait will be worth it, but there is no guarantee that they will move into their new home before the end of this season.
Therefore, as a contingency plan they have taken out an option on Wembley until the end of the 2018-19 season.
Despite their off-field problems, they remain competitive in the Premier League lying just five points off the leaders Manchester City in third place.
Their hopes of reaching the knockout stages of the Champions League looked slim after failing to win any of their first three group stage fixtures.
However, after back-to-back wins over PSV and Inter Milan at Wembley, they go into their last game at Barcelona with renewed hope they can get their name in the hat for the last-16 draw.
