STEPHAN LICHTSTEINER looked sad in a team photo taken in the dressing room after Arsenal's big 4-2 derby win over Tottenham.

Puzzled fans took to social media to solve the mystery of the Swiss' grim mood.

The 34-year-old did not play a single minute in the match but managed to send the Gunners fans into frenzy with his hilarious celebration after Alexandre Lacazette's second-half goal.

Lichtsteiner also squared up to Moussa Sissoko after Eric Dier's equaliser.

The Swiss, however, appeared to lose his enthusiasm when the team decided to pose to a commemorative photo in the dressing room.

And that completely bewildered Arsenal fans.

One, cemlouire, asked on Instagram: "Why Lichtsteiner so mad?".

Another, craigyyy13, added: "Stephan Lichtsteiner's face - you thinking about chewing up Eric Dier again?".

But @BiggarsInParis came with an explanation on Twitter, saying that Lichtsteiner "left the chicken in the over".

@DanArnold1691 summed up: "Lichtsteiner is a scary dude, never seen him smile," and called him a terminator.

Arsenal fans were disappointed that the derby hero - Lucas Torreira, who scored his first goal for the Gunners against Tottenham - did not make it into the photo.

Interestingly, another absentee was Aaron Ramsey whose expiring contract will not be extended by the club.
