De La Hoya ‘worried’ for Canelo despite him being massive favourite against Fielding
CANELO ALVAREZ might be the big favourite heading into his fight against Rocky Fielding, but his promoter has admitted he is "worried".
Oscar De La Hoya believes his man is heading into a "dangerous" fight when he challenges for Fielding's WBA super-middleweight world title.
And bearing in mind De La Hoya himself is a former five-weight world champ, his thoughts on the Madison Square Garden scrap should be taken seriously.
Canelo is as short as 1/12 to get the job done against the Scouser in New York at the weekend, despite the fact that he is stepping up a weight.
But this is where the danger is, according to De La Hoya.
Speaking to the , the boxing Hall of Famer said: "The fact he is moving up in weight is dangerous. Fielding is naturally big.
"If a fighter feels comfortable that he will win easily, against a guy who no-one knows, it can be very dangerous.
"Canelo has to be sharp, focused and in shape, because Rocky is coming in with everything and has nothing to lose.

Following his epic rematch victory over Gennady Golovkin, the Mexican returns to the ring to fight it out for the WBA super-middleweight world crown.
Fielding took the title in the summer, beating Tyron Zeuge in Germany to end his two-year grip on the belt.
This bout is therefore the second consecutive appearance for Rocky outside of the UK, who goes into the ring as a big underdog against the hugely-talented Mexican.
It's a late one on this side of the pond, with the main event expected some time around 3am.
