Arsenal fans furious with Match of the Day after two huge incidents not shown from Burnley win

Ashley Barnes was slammed for appearing to stamp on Matteo Guendouzi and tussling with Sokratis

ARSENAL fans were furious that Match of the Day did not show two huge incidents from Saturday's win over Burnley.

Both of the controversial moments involved Clarets striker Ashley Barnes and were not analysed by the pundits.

The first incident saw Barnes get Gunners ace Sokratis in a headlock during the explosive clash at the Emirates.

Team-mates were forced to intervene and pull the pair apart before Barnes received a yellow card.

Another moment that was missed by Match of the Day was when Barnes appeared to stamp on Matteo Guendouzi.

After he conceded a foul, footage showed his right foot plant onto the stomach of the 19-year-old.

He was not penalised for his actions and the referee let play continue before the Gunners went on to win the match 3-1.

After watching Saturday night's highlight show, fans flocked to Twitter to slate the "biased" analysis.

One said: "Good job on making Arsenal look like diving cheats but you failed to mention that Barnes (Burnley) had Sokratis in a headlock? And the fact he should have been sent off 5 times."

Another added: "Just watching your highlights of the Burnley game... It's amazing how clever editing can make it seem like poor old Burnley - they should've had 2 men sent off."

While another claimed: "So all MOTD wanted to talk about really was the penalty that Burnley should have had... makes me angry."

But after the match, Barnes brushed off reports that he should have been sent off.
