ENGLAND World Cup hero John Stones has walked out on his childhood sweetheart and mum to their 18-month-old daughter.
The £150,000-a-week Man City defender, 24, allegedly told girlfriend Millie Savage: “It’s over. I want more freedom.”
He packed a bag and quit their £3.4million mansion, hours after ditching Millie shortly before Christmas.
The couple started dating when they were aged just 15.
John has now moved into a £6,000-a-month apartment in Manchester, in the same block as his manager Pep Guardiola.
Millie has stayed at their six-bedroom home near Knutsford, Cheshire, and a friend said: “They both want to live there. Things could get nasty.”
The pal added: “She’s devastated. He left with no real explanation.
"They had a lovely home and seemed to have settled down as the perfect family.”
And last night her mum Mandy told: "We are absolutely devastated. John was like another son to us."
She said Millie has had "good days and bad days" since the rift.
The couple met as 12-year-old pupils at Penistone Grammar School, South Yorks.
Millie was at John’s side as he rose from Barnsley’s academy to joining City in 2016 for £47million, a world record fee for a defender at the time.
That year events organiser Jessica Peaty, then 20, told how she romped with the star after meeting at a restaurant.
She claimed he told her that he and Millie had split.
Jessica claimed she and John started meeting weekly at his £900-a-night suite at the Lowry hotel.
Jessica is said to have alerted Millie to the fling after spotting pictures online of the couple shopping. Jessica said: “My heart sank, it was absolutely awful.
“Even though I had a gut feeling something wasn’t right, it was the confirmation.”
Millie forgave John and they moved to their dream home in 2017.
He pledged his love with a tattoo of her on his arm.
Last summer Millie was at the World Cup in Russia to cheer on 37-cap John as he scored twice in the 6-1 win over Panama and the Three Lions reached the semi-finals.
Despite driving a £250,000 Rolls-Royce Wraith and a Range Rover, John has a reputation as being humble and unflashy.
Last night, he declined to comment on the split.
Millie would only say: “We were a very private couple and didn’t want to be in the limelight. I didn’t want other people to know.”
She agreed she was suspicious at first but said: “There isn’t anyone else involved.”
