WWE legend CM Punk contacted by All Elite Wrestling over ring return
ALL ELITE WRESTLING have contacted WWE legend CM Punk to try and tempt him back to the ring.
AEW, backed by billionaires Shahid and Tony Khan, officially launched last week and immediately raised eyebrows with a number of key additions to the roster.
Chris Jericho was just one of the names confirmed to be joining the brand-new promotion, which hosts its first pay-per-view - titled “Double or Nothing” - on May 25.
Now it has emerged AEW also put in a call to 40-year-old CM Punk – who quit WWE in 2014 prior to a bitter legal battle with the company.
Punk attempted to launch a career as a UFC fighter unsuccessfully after leaving the ring.
He lost both matches inside the Octagon but remains under contract with Dana White’s MMA giants.
But whatever his future holds, according to , the ex-WWE Champion does not appear interested in the professional wrestling business.
He said: “CM Punk does not seem like he wants to do anything with pro wrestling. He has plenty of opportunities.

Meltzer added: “The reality is he’s still under contract with UFC somehow even though they’ll never use him again, but you know he doesn’t seem to want to be around wrestling.
“If he doesn’t, more power to him. If he wants to be around wrestling he can call them.
“They’ve already called him, I know that. He just doesn’t want to be around wrestling.”
CM Punk lost via a unanimous decision to Mike Jackson last June at UFC 225 in his hometown of Chicago.
That followed on from his submission loss to Mickey Gall on his Octagon debut two years earlier.
