Hudson-Odoi hands in Chelsea transfer request to force through Bayern Munich move
The German giants have seen a number of bids rejected by the Blues
BAYERN MUNICH target Callum Hudson-Odoi has handed in a transfer request at Chelsea as he tries to force through his move to Allianz Arena this month.
The German giants have seen a number of bids rejected by the Blues, who tried to sway the 18-year-old by offering him a new £80,000-a-week contract.
SunSport have been told Hudson-Odoi met with Chelsea's officials on Saturday evening, announcing he wanted to leave the club before the winter transfer window shuts.
Bayern are reportedly set to make a fresh £40m bid, hoping to persuade the Blues to sanction the deal.
The 18-year-old winger has been offered a new bumper contract as the club tried to convince their starlet to stay at Stamford Bridge.
But Hudson-Odoi, who has played only 61 minutes in the Premier League this season, wants to follow in the footsteps of Jadon Sancho and look for a career breakthrough in the Bundesliga.
RB Leipzig have reportedly joined in the race for the Chelsea starlet's signature, and are keen to offer the Blues £20m for the winger.
But the German side are reportedly willing to include a buy-back clause in the deal, which could turn out to be a game-changer in the negotiations.
Such a deal would be more acceptable for Chelsea, who otherwise risk a significant drop in Hudson-Odoi's value if he runs down his contract into its last year.
However, the winger still wants to try himself at Allianz Arena as Bayern are planning to make a squad reshuffle in the summer, and believe Blues prodigy can break into their starting line-up instantly.
SunSport have reported Bayern have been in "constant contact" with Chelsea, trying to seal the deal before the winter transfer window shuts.
And Hudson-Odoi's transfer request will surely encourage the Bundesliga champions to double down on their efforts.
