Keown fumes at ‘embarrassing’ Ozil situation and questions how Arsenal star has missed so many matches
The German midfielder has missed 20 games in all competitions this season — more than he has been involved in
ARSENAL legend Martin Keown has slammed the "embarrassing" Mesut Ozil situation at Arsenal, after he missed another big game against BATE Borisov.
The German has been left out of the squad due to illness AGAIN, sitting out his 20th match of the season.
Ozil was left in London as Arsenal embarrassingly lost to BATE 1-0 on Thursday night.
The 30-year-old midfielder missed last week's Premier League clash against Huddersfield, also because of illness — despite training all week, leading to Gunners fans questioning his absence.
Ozil has now missed more games than he was involved in this season, reaching a century of absences since moving to the Emirates — with Arsenal paying his ace £9,000 per minute of Premier League action in the current campaign.
And Keown, who won three league titles with the Gunners during two stints at the club, does not like the look of how the North London club are managing him.

He told the : "Is he injured? Is he ill? One of the things as a player is that you have to be available for selection and give consistency.
"He hasn't been able to give either of those so he has to work to get back in to the team.
"That's what he has to do and what the manager wants him to do.
"It's now becoming embarrassing, the situation and with no Ramsey too.
"We don't know if he is really injured or not. To miss [so many games] is quite remarkable.
"I would say that is questionable but only the player really knows."
Gunners boss Unai Emery reportedly does not see Ozil in his plans and is offering the midfielder to clubs in China while the transfer window in the Chinese Super League remains open till February 22.
