Leeds star Tui Lolohea admits he loves the quiet life after moving to England

Stand-off says life in Super League is far different than when he was at NRL side Wests Tigers - and he would not have it any other way

TUI Lolohea is not getting stopped in the street by idolising fans or autograph hunters – and he would not have it any other way.

The Tongan ace is making an impact after moving to Leeds from NRL side Wests Tigers.

Tui Lolohea admits he loves being able to go about his daily life unbothered

But he is not yet a star and is treated just like any normal person when he goes about his daily business.

However, that lack of attention suits him down to the ground after being bothered back in Australia.

Stand-off Lolohea said: “There’s a big difference to life here.

“Football’s the main sport at the top of the list whereas when I was in Sydney rugby league is top of the list.

“There’s a lot of attention on you but here you can just go about everyday life. I’m not really getting bothered by anyone, that’s a good thing.

“I love it. My kids and family can just be ourselves.”

Lolohea will be up against firmer team-mate and Fiji star Kevin Naiqama

Lolohea, 24, is up against a familiar face tonight in St Helens star and former Wests team-mate Kevin Naiqama – who is known for welling up with tears when he hears Fiji‘s national anthem.

But he admits he is happy the centre is on the other side of the pitch while believing David Furner’s Rhinos can go far in the competition after finally getting off the mark.

He added: “Big Kevin’s outstanding, he does a lot of things right and is a very spiritual man. He’s showed it means a lot to all islanders to represent our countries.

“When we play for them, we play with our hearts but he’s on the opposite side of the field, so big Konrad Hurrell’s got the job of facing him. No pressure there!

“The first two weeks were disappointing and not the way we wanted to go but it takes time to get used to a new team, a new coach, a new spine and a couple of new players but the key now is kicking on.

“I’ve loved every minute of it so far, it’s been amazing but not a surprise. If we can play the way we train and put it on to the field, we can go a long way and be a threat.”
