Vandoorne grabbed his first Formula E pole position in wet streets of Hong Kong

Former F1 star has struggled as HWA are the only team in the paddock yet to score points this season

STOFFEL VANDOORNE clinched his first pole position in Formula E ahead of the Hong Kong E-Prix.

The ex-F1 star capitalised on a dry spell in qualifying to take himself into super pole before going fastest again.

The Belgian guided his HWA car through the puddles in the streets of Hong Kong as the championship is set for its wet race.

HWA are the only team yet to score points this season after struggling for performances in the opening four races of the season.

Brit Oliver Rowland will start second on the grid for Nissan ahead of Edoardo Mortara.

Meanwhile DTM champion and fellow Brit Gary Paffett will start fourth behind Andre Lotterer.
