UFC London results: Darren Till knocked clean out by American veteran Jorge Masvidal
Liverpool's 6ft Gorilla was flattened in the second round by two pinpoint left hooks that robbed him of his senses
LIVERPOOL UFC hero Darren Till was smashed senseless by American veteran Jorge Masvidal.
The Miami underdog travelled to the London earmarked as a sacrificial lamb to the Brit ace nicknamed The Gorilla.
But the 34-year-old battled back from a first-round flooring to land two sensational left hooks that rattled Till’s brain and left him sprawled out on the floor.
Masvidal sprinted out of his corner to get the action started and aimed a leg kick at Till’s knee.
But the American’s accuracy was off and he caught the proud Scouser in the crown jewels.
Till was given time to recover from the low blow and he roared back into action with a trademark left hand that floored ‘Gamebred’ but failed to knock him out.
Masvidal, a former backyard fighter and YouTube cult hero, went toe-to-toe with the Brit, even with the O2 crowd firmly against him.
Till, still only 26, was landing punches and backing the veteran 34-year-old up.
Masvidal did land a glancing left hand in the final minute of the opener but the Brit nodded, smiled and got back to work.
