She may have beaten Brazilian Priscila Cachoeira at London's O2 Arena on Saturday - but had to finish it off using one eye.

McCann took a brutal blow to her left eye late in the third round and was forced to go under the knife on Sunday morning to prevent long-lasting damage.

But she remained in high spirits throughout.

And no wonder considering she became the first English woman to win a fight in the UFC.

She asserted her dominance on Cachoeira and deserved the victory.

McCann took to social media to dedicate it to her beloved Liverpool and confirm that surgery had gone well.

She wrote: "I’m the f***** fighting pride of this city!

"Let’s get the party started! - I’m leaving ozzzy now. Little fracture and stitches. But all good.

"No Guinness for me. But surgery was a success. Thank you for all the messages."

Liverpool mayor Joe Anderson hailed the Everton fan a "warrior" for the way she battled through to victory.

He said: "Wow, what a warrior, well and truly deserved so brave, a proud and passionate display, fighting on with one eye completely closed, you said you would and you did, well done Molly."
