Piquet Jr was axed after scoring just one point after six races this term for the British team.

Lynn will race alongside Mitch Evans in the next race at the Rome ePrix.

The 25-year-old is desperate to prove himself after Virgin let his contract expire last year.

Lynn said: "I am focused on working with Mitch, the engineers and technicians to put in a strong performance from now until the end of the season."

Jaguar called time on Piquet Jr's contract after a disappointing season but he is looking for a fresh start in Brazil.

The Brazilian said: "I have enjoyed working with Panasonic Jaguar Racing over the past season and a half but results in season 5 have not met the collective expectations of myself and the team.

"I begin my Stock Car Brazil season in a week and a half and that will be my focus in 2019.

"I am still very passionate about Formula E having been involved since the start and winning the inaugural championship."
