The French champions made sure the party was not spoiled as they smashed Monaco 3-1 at the Parc des Princes - thanks to a hat-trick from golden boy Mbappe.

Monaco, coincidentally the last side to win Ligue 1 before PSG back-to-back titles, conceded after just 15 minutes as their former student rifled one into the top corner.

The champions were deadly on the counterattack and after receiving an inviting through ball by Moussa Diaby, Mbappe did the rest.

On 38 minutes the 20-year-old grabbed his second this time with the help of Brazilian Dani Alves, who played the striker in and Mbappe drilled his effort into the bottom corner.

The World Cup winner was proving why he is one of the hottest commodities in world football, having now scored 36 goals in all competitions.

Mbappe completed his hat-trick 10 minutes after the second-half had kicked off and again Alves was at the thick of it, laying it off to the Frenchman who blasted home his third with a left-footed effort.

Monaco pulled one back 10 minutes from time through Aleksandr Golovin  - but the game, and league was well and truly decided by then.

The game was already special as the champions wore special kits commemorating the Notre-Dame fire.

Last week the famous cathedral was almost destroyed in a horrific fire causing mass damage.

PSG had offered 500 tickets for Monaco clash to firefighters who fought Notre Dame blaze - and the famous cathedral is stamped onto the front on the shirt while the player names have been replaced by ‘NOTRE-DAME’.

The celebrations ensued on the pitch led by stars Thiago Silva, Neymar and Mbappe as they were once again crowned French champions.

It is another year, however, they miss out on Champions League glory, having been knocked out by Manchester United in the last 16 - winning the first leg 2-0 at Old Trafford but losing 3-1 at home in the return tie.
