AARON CHALMERS silenced his critics on his return to the cage and forced Fred Freeman to tap-out.

The former Geordie Shore star bounced back from his first career defeat in February to claim an impressive victory at Bellator London and take his record to 5-1.

Chalmers told Sun Sport this week he had never felt less nervous going into a fight after overcoming his battle with anxiety and guilt since the setback against Corey Browning.

But the 32-year-old’s nerves must have been jangling as he strode down the ramp in front of his Geordie Shore pals with the spotlight on him again.

And his opponent “The Demon” was ready to pounce on any doubts the North East ace had climbing back inside the cage.

Chalmers bolted out of the traps to land some decent shots in the first, rocking Freeman as the Wembley crowd roared on in approval.

But the Newcastle-born battler was unable to land anything telling as his opponent managed to compose himself to see out the round.

However it was all over in the second as Chalmers secured the win by locking on a triangle chokehold to force the submission.

Now the brave battler is on course to appear in Dublin in September before Bellator is expected to head back to his hometown in December.
