Dillian Whyte blasts ‘boxing is full of s***’ after WBO make Oleksandr Usyk mandatory for world title… despite never fighting at heavyweight

DILLIAN WHYTE has slammed the WBO’s decision to make Oleksandr Usyk mandatory to face the winner of the Anthony Joshua versus Andy Ruiz Jr rematch.

That fight will take place in November or December as AJ hopes to reclaim the world titles he lost to Ruiz in one of boxing’s biggest ever shocks earlier this month.

But once again Whyte has been overlooked to challenge the victor, despite being ranked as the WBO’s No1 heavyweight contender for some time.

Instead Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk will get that chance in what will be his first heavyweight bout since moving up from cruiserweight.

Whyte is still fuming at the WBC for not granting him a shot at Deontay Wilder despite being their No1-ranked boxer.

And the Brixton bruiser has  now labelled the sport as “full of s***”.

Speaking to Whyte said: “If I say what I really feel about these things, I might get removed from the rankings.

“I start saying stuff and they send me emails and letters saying I can’t say these things and it’s disrespectful.

“But the fact that they’re disrespecting me constantly doesn’t mean anything.

“Boxing’s full of s***, basically, and we see it time and time again.

“It’s a joke. He [Usyk] pulled out of the [Carlos] Takam fight. These guys are jokers. It is what it is.”

Whyte will face undefeated Oscar Rivas next on July 20 at London’s O2 Arena.

And despite heading into that one as the big favourite, the Bodysnatcher is taking nothing for granted.

He added: “I’ve got a big fight ahead of me and I just want to focus on that.

“Rivas is a tough challenger. He’s coming to win and he’s undefeated. He’s never lost before.”
