Now the former WBA (Super), IBF and WBO heavyweight king has revealed to his fans he is already working towards regaining the straps via his Snapchat.

AJ shared with his followers a number of clips of him working on his head movement in the gym today.

The 29-year-old is expected to return to the ring later this year with the rematch looking to take place either in the UK or back in the Big Apple.

Eddie Hearn has confirmed Joshua vs Ruiz Jr. II will take place at either Madison Square Garden again or Cardiff’s Principality Stadium.

And the promoter says has also said the clash will be on either November 29 or December 7 if it’s in the States.

But December 14 will be the date for AJ’s shot at redemption if it’s held in Cardiff.

Speaking to Chris Mannix of SI Boxing over the weekend, Hearn said: “I think it’s between the UK and MSG.

“If he [Joshua] beats Andy Ruiz away Madison Square Garden, he becomes an overnight sensation.”

And he added a decision is likely to be made by Wednesday.

Hearn continued: “I spoke to him [Joshua] ten minutes ago, I said ‘you’re going to have a very difficult decision to make in the next 48 hours, because I’m going to lay it all on a bit of paper for you, and I’m going to say what do you want to do,’ as always, Anthony will decide.

“November 29th or December 7th in New York, or December the 7th in Cardiff.

“Those three weekends is where we are down to at the moment.”

Hearn added: “It’s gone on for a long time now and it’s not if he wants to do it or not, we just wanted to leave him [Joshua] alone.

“After a good few weeks of not depression but he kicked himself hard because he’s a winner, just now I’ve seen him out training, he knows where he needs to improve and I think you’ll see and completely different fighter in the rematch.

“Not saying he definitely wins the rematch but you will see a completely different fighter.”

Previously undefeated Joshua suffered four knockdowns on his way to losing in the seventh round against Ruiz Jr.
